The Joyful Friar
The Joyful Friar Podcast explores the soulful, the meaningful, and the mystical in three different ways. First, Afterlife, Interrupted stories, in which someone who died suddenly and traumatically seeks my help and the help of my prayer partners.
Second, Compassionate Responses, to readers’ and listeners’ questions and concerns that arise from those stories. And third, Spiritual Practices, influenced by the Catholic Christian tradition I’ve been shaped by that reveal how goodness is at work throughout the universe and within each of us.
Each episode reveals insights about living in the present with faith and joyful hope. Be inspired to more fully receive, magnify, and share love.

Dear Father Nathan, I love your podcast. It's my favorite. I think I have a lot of anxiety and live with a lot of stress in my life (I have autistic/neuro-divergent children) so your podcast helps me to both heal my trauma from the past and ongoing and also to focus on the eternal. The stories that you share are amazing. I can't believe the creativity of our Creator and how each person's story is unique. I love when you read from the transcript directly so we can hear what happened. I love your books and would love if you wrote another one, but understand this must be time consuming. I would literally love to read every afterlife interrupted story that you encounter. Thank you for your ministry and a belated happy birthday for earlier this year. God bless you! Jenny in New York
